This is an inked image I found from Deviantart.com by Madman1. I thought the picture was great and just perfect for some coloring exercise...

I think the water needs some work, but otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it...what do you think?

I like the choice of tones, but to be totally honest, it looks like you didn't do too much beyond lay down some flats. The picture was alerady pre-shaded with ink, so it seems like you just basically painted Spidey red, threw a gradient of grays into the background, and was done with it.

Something like this would be better to practice on, because there's no shading at all and you have a lot of freedom to practice that kind of stuff.

All in all, it looks perfectly fine, but I feel like that's only because the lineart did all the work.

Obviously I'm not knocking you at all! I've seen your other stuff and I know you have talent; this particular picture just doesn't show it off. I think you challenging yourself on something that gives you way more freedom will yield some awesome results. :D
