This was a fun exercise in coloring using selection tools like the lasso and such. I need to calibrate my monitor too, I had the brightness turned up higher than normal I guess, that why each of my pics seem to be darker than they should.

This was fun to do, my first character illustration in a while.

Sloth

Drawn by hand, inked in Illustrator, colored in Photoshop.

Voice is back after a few years, I used to submit stuff to them all the time, it's fun to be part of it again.

The theme is Time & Nature....I was trying to think of something that would fit that theme and I really couldnt think of anything too abstract so I went for the literal route...a tree "nature" and some clocks "time"...the deadline is next week, I guess, so I didnt want to take too much time thinking about this. I also decided to keep the style nice and loose...i like it..you?

Nature&time

It's been a while since my last post. Haven't had too many design projects as of late. Everything I have been working on is posted over at my portfolio page. The lead developer at the place where I inter just had a kid so he's a little busy, I got all kinds of work from school I gotta do, doesn't leave much room for doodlin...lame. Summer will hopefully give me the free time I am currently lacking...

In other news, my wife and I just got new phones, matching no less. We each got a Samsung Rant by Sprint. Her employer gives her a sweet discount and we liked the phones so we gave Sprint a shot. So far I like everything about the phone and the network. Tech support hung up on each of us...hopefully by accident but whatever.

Samsung-rant

The phones pretty cool, full QWERTY keyboard and a very cool messaging UI, the calendar/task manager thing is really cool. I've never had a phone with a countdown event scheduler. NICE!

Oh and I have a couple drawings in mind that i'd like to do...one inspired by a band an old friend is in. Check 'em out here.

And another inspired by one of Paiges drawings...something about a guy with sloth hands...it looked really cool, I wanna draw that guy with my own style...we'll see!

It's finally done! This was pretty fun to put together, I learned a lot about dealing with a client and not getting too attached to my original work because revisions are always going to happen.
