Been pretty busy lately with my internship and work and stuff.

I've been teaching myself xHTML & CSS also. In the process of doing so, I stumbled onto an opportunity to redesign a webpage for The Law Office of  Eric Ortner.

Here is what I got so far:

It's only the homepage right now, I'm waiting to see what he thinks, he's in court a lot so I have to be patient.

In the meantime, I'm just playin around with markup and getting some good experience in.

This time I tried to occupy some space in the upper and lower banners. eh?

Accugraphics NEW2 copy

This time I tried to make the menu fonts more pleasing to the eyes and simplified the address type

Also, nobody likes that stupid house and I didnt really want to re create their old logo (that ball with the windows looking thing) so I just make a new logo orb thing with A & G (Accu Graphics). What do you think?

Accugraphics NEW copy

I have been looking around for some graphic design places here in town and I found one called AccuGraphics. You can check out their site HERE. Something about the layout of the site just seemed off to me and I thought it would be a fun exercise to try and redesign the homepage using Photoshop. I figured since I am trying to pursue a career in which I may be designing web pages, why not start trying to design one?

A lot of the pages content seemed very redundant to me, different phrases are repeated various times. So I tried to slim it down and make each word and phrase efficient.

The "Welcome to our site" thing seemed very...'this is 1993 and I just made a site with GeoCities...welcome to my site'. So that had to go.

Overall I just wanted to give the site a more modern, "designed" feel.

I did though notice that the page has a very friendly warm feeling to it. The warm colors. So in my design I wanted to incorporate oranges and reds to keep that vibe as much as I could without it being to similar to the original.

Oh and I wanted to retain some form of identity so I kept that house thing which I assumed to be their logo. Maybe I should have redesigned that too?
